L’éducation comme vecteur de réconciliation en Irlande du Nord post-conflit

Depuis sa création en 1921, l’Irlande du Nord connaît un système éducatif ségrégé dans lequel élèves protestants et catholiques évoluent pour la grande majorité dans des écoles confessionnelles et ne se fréquentent pas ou très peu. Une telle configuration tend à renforcer un peu plus la ségrégation sociale, identitaire et religieuse qui divise aujourd’hui encore la société nord-irlandaise, plus de 20 ans après la signature de l’Accord de paix de 1998 mettant officiellement fin au conflit (Troubles) opposant les unionistes, majoritairement protestants, aux nationalistes, majoritairement catholiques, ayant causé la mort de plus de 3 500 personnes. Cependant, ces dernières décennies, plusieurs politiques éducatives ont été menées dans le but d’encourager les interactions intercommunautaires et ainsi d’agir en faveur d’une ségrégation moindre et de davantage de cohésion sociale. Il s’agit de l’éducation intégrée dès le début des années 1980 et de l’éducation partagée plus récemment. Etat des lieux.

Civil protests in the new decade: what lessons to draw from the Italian “Sardines”

The last decade ended in protests. Asia, Europe, America: 2019 was the year when the civil society from all over the globe gathered against inequalities, corruption and bad governance. Some cases are more emblematic than others, like Hong Kong’s protesters. In the European panorama, the movement of the Italian Sardines has become a model of popular mobilisation. Why? Through a reflection on the peculiarities of the Italian case, this article proposes to depict possible similar scenarios in the coming years.
