Rethinking Governance in Europe and Northeast Asia – Talk with Uwe Wissenbach

23 February 2021 /

Global Governance is a primordial topic discussed by intellectuals, ranging from academics, politicians to economists, which has gained momentum with the numerous crises in the past decade. The Financial collapse of 2009, the climate challenge coupled with the devastating effects of the Covid pandemic has once again brought this topic to the forefront.
Wissenbach Uwe, currently working at the European External Action Service as Head of the EU Delegation to Nicaragua is uniquely positioned to discuss the subject of Global Governance with his vast political experience and linguistic and cultural expertise. In his monograph comparing the regional governance of the European Union and of North East Asia, he raises important questions about the differences, successes, and failures of each party.
Join us on the 3rd of March 2021 at our event, in partnership with the Institute for European studies of Brussels for an exclusive talk with Use Wissenbach himself, as well as experts and academics of the field Bart Dessein, Celine C. Cocq and Emil J. Kirchner.
The talk will touch upon multilateralism, nationalism and other collaborative approaches to global challenges. We encourage students and researchers of international relations and global governance to participate and ask their most challenging questions to our panel of academics!
