Green Deal and CAP, are those really compatible? @ Zoom

In December 2019, the European Commission announced the Green Deal, a project aiming to achieve ‘climate neutrality’ for the European bloc by 2050. While the project highlights the environmental crisis and proposes ambitious changes, much debate was triggered as to the feasibility and fairness of the Green Deal in the context of the reform of the CAP.

As a young and growing media outlet, we have decided to delve into the heart of the ecological and agricultural matter and, with the help of political figures and ecological activists, help our audience craft an opinion for themselves.

On the 15th of December 2020, a Zoom debate accessible to all will be hosted discussing the Green Deal and its implication for our environment.

  • Félix Tuchais, the policy advisor for the committees Agriculture and rural development (AGRI) and Fisheries (PECH),
  • Stanka Becheva, campaigner of Friends of the Earth Europe,
  • Léna Brisset, a policy officer at IFOAM Organics Europe
  • Faustine Bas-Defossez, the Head of Agriculture and Land Management Programme for the IEEP,

will engage in a debate touching upon the topics from the compatibility of the CAP and Green Deal to the recent trend of ‘greenwashing’.
